Product Description: L-Methylfolate Gluten Free Metabolically Active Form of Folate Supplement Non-GMO LE Certified Optimized High Potency Folate is a cardiovascular health supplement that supports cognitive health and more with 8,500 mcg of metabolically active 5-MTHF. Maintaining normal levels of the metabolic byproduct homocysteine has been linked to cardiovascular and cognitive health. Folate, a B vitamin, helps maintain homocysteine levels that are already within the normal range. However, not everyone can efficiently convert folate to its bioactive form. Our formula provides 5-MTHF so you don’t have to. 5-MTHF folate in our optimized high-potency folate is the most bioavailable form of the B vitamin, folate. Benefits of Optimized High-Potency Folate Bioavailable High-Potency 5-MTHF Folate Strengthens Cardiovascular & Cognitive Health Helps Maintain Healthy Homocysteine Levels 5-MTHF Folate Addresses Problems Caused by Decreased Enzymatic Efficiency For Optimal Health Benefits Folic acid is a common B vitamin supplement. When you take folic acid, your body needs to convert it to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, or 5-MTHF. However, studies have shown that many people don’t have the enzyme active enough to convert folate. That’s why we’ve formulated our optimized high-potency folate with 8,500 mcg of 5-MTHF so your body doesn’t have to do the converting. Folic acid is the most common form of folic acid supplement. When you consume folic acid, your body must convert the synthetic form, folic acid, to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, or 5-MTHF. However, studies have shown that many people don’t have the enzyme active enough to convert folic acid to 5-MTHF. Therefore, it’s more effective to take 5-MTHF directly. 5-MTHF, Homocysteine, and Cardiovascular Health Folic acid helps maintain healthy homocysteine levels that are already within the normal range. By curbing excess homocysteine, folic acid helps keep this important cardiovascular health biomarker at healthy levels. And some studies have shown that 5-MTHF is more bioavailable than folic acid. 5-MTHF, Homocysteine, and Cognitive Health The greater bioavailability of 5-MTHF is especially important for people who don’t have the enzyme active enough to convert folic acid to its bioactive form. Because people with high homocysteine levels are at greater risk for cognitive decline, the increased benefits of 5-MTHF in helping maintain healthy folate levels are especially important for older adults. Take alone or with B12 for added benefits. For adults who are not pregnant or breastfeeding, the RDA for folate is 400 mcg per day, but this high-potency formula provides 8,500 mcg of folate in a highly bioavailable form. For even greater health benefits, take 5-MTHF folate with methylcobalamin (the active form of vitamin B12), vitamin B6, and/or riboflavin.
