2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the death of Hindemith (1895-1963). His works have a unique texture, and even if they may initially seem a little difficult to listen to, once you become acquainted with his diverse compositional techniques, experimental sound production, and underlying passionate emotion, you will find them captivating and captivating. This album contains all of his works for piano and orchestra. The titles themselves, rather than the usual "concerto" ("Chamber Music" or "Concertos"), are characteristic of Hindemith, but his works are also innovative and always offer a curveball. This is the joy of listening to Hindemith. A copy of the "Concerto for the Left Hand" was discovered among the belongings of the wife of pianist Wittgenstein, who lost his right hand in the war (he died in 2001), making this a rare recording. Conducted by Toshiyuki Shimada, Japan's proud conductor of "contemporary music," this is a brilliant Hindemith performance by a little-known master. The piano is performed by the virtuoso Bilet, a NAXOS pride and joy!
