The reason it grinds so well despite having no grooves is because of the rough texture on the inside. The rough texture of the rough clay used to make it grinds ingredients smoothly. The large base also prevents wobbling when grinding ingredients with force, allowing for stable grinding, and its compact size means it can be served directly on the table. Since it can be served without transferring the container, you can use the ground sesame seeds and ingredients without wasting them.
