2. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Elephant was a heavily armored artillery/tank destroyer used by the German military during World War II.This vehicle is still very popular and recognized among fans of history and military technology. The block model of the most famous vehicle of World War II is designed in 1:28 scale using 1,252 elements and measures an impressive 28.5cm long.Blocks and figures contain only high quality prints. You won't find stickers here! Model features include a removable block replica of the engine, a work truck, a cannon that can move vertically and horizontally, reproduce internal elements and open hatches. The set also includes detailed figures of vehicle crew members with accessories such as submachine guns and canisters. The entire set includes a plate with the vehicle name printed on it.This detailed and very large model of a heavy tank destroyer is a must-have for collectors and history buffs. The first version of the German heavy tank destroyer was named Ferdinand after its designer Ferdinand Porsche.A slightly improved version of this vehicle was equipped with a machine gun and a commander's cupola in the front, among other additions.COBI designed both versions. The Panzer Jaeger Tiger (P) Elephant was built on the chassis of the Tiger I tank.Serial production began in 1943.Initially it was named Ferdinand.Ferdinand took part in the battles on the Eastern Front and the Battle of Kursk. The tank destroyer was armed with a powerful 88mm PaK 43/2 L/71 anti-tank gun, which was effective against almost all enemy vehicles.Thick armor protects your vehicle well.Despite impressive statistics, Ferdinand also had some drawbacks. These include limited maneuverability, engine and suspension failure, and vulnerability to infantry attack. After the Battle of Kursk, the 48 surviving vehicles were modernized and renamed Elephant.Additions include improved armor, a frontal machine gun, a commander's cupola and a gimmerite.Elephant was one of the most powerful German vehicles that appeared on the battlefield during World War II.However, due to the low production volume of this model, its role in the war was limited.Nevertheless, the vehicle excites the imagination of history and military technology buffs. It is also one of the most famous vehicles of World War II.Build history one step at a time with COBI.
