Alluring Beauty: The Revival of the Genius Artist, Eiho Hirezaki"
Eiho Hirezaki, a genius artist, adorned the works of Kyoka Izumi with beautiful frontispieces, and was praised as a peerless pair of bijin-ga (portraits of beautiful women) by Kaburagi Kiyokata.
Though acclaimed as a young and talented painter of Japanese art, he was largely overlooked until now, as he subsequently focused on illustrations and book frontispieces.
Hirezaki's work has been significantly rediscovered in recent years, and an exhibition commemorating the 130th anniversary of his birth will be held at the Yayoi Museum of Art in Tokyo from January 2010.
This first-ever art book has been published, bringing together his last works and related materials, featuring 300 beautiful illustrations.
This collection features a collection of legendary masterpieces in full color!
There is some wear to the cover, but the book itself is in relatively good condition.
