Insert the poppin into the poppin holder, then hold the poppin holder and turn the poppin clockwise to secure it in place. 2. Attach the ball winding machine to a fixed location such as a table. It can accommodate thicknesses up to approximately 3.5 cm. The clasp is adjusted by turning the red knob. 3. With the loop side of the thread guide facing up, pull it out to a position where it will not fall over, then secure it in place. 4. Pass the end of the thread through the thread guide, then hook it into the notch at the top of the poppin and turn the handle. It's easier to wind if you hold the skein of thread with one hand. 5. Once the ball is wound, it can be easily removed.
